Being surrounded by hundreds of women who blog was a little daunting. Nonetheless, I attempted to mingle when I had the opportunity. In retrospect I wish I had been a bit more forward, particularly with the cute bloggers with glasses and tattoos and pretty vintage dresses, etc. But I am shy to approach people, so I didn't amass as many blogger business cars as I maybe could have. Despite my inability to dive into the mingling process I still met some cool ladies and gave out a few of my cards.
The first blogger I met was Lori, who had only just set up her blog the day of the newbie mixer. Her blog is Global Bake Sale and she was a lovely person to meet and begin my Blogher experience with.
After downing a glass of white wine during the ten minutes I spent at the newbie party I headed out for some grub. I settled down at the bar of the Pine Crest 24 Hour Diner on Mason Street. Foolishly I chose a seat directly across from the grill. I got up and moved and then heard "Excuse me..." I turned around and saw three women sitting in a booth who asked "Are you a blogger?" Why, yes I am. That's when I met Katy, Clair and Jennifer. I was rescued from solo dining across from grilling burgers by bloggers. It was a welcome rescue and a wonderful chat. You can find them here: Katy (LA Blogger Gal / Constant Chatter), Jennifer (The Smart Mama) and Clair (Clair Nation / Endorphine Addict).
My blogging pals and companions over the course of the conference were Erin (Tentative Plans) and Zoe (Morning Toast). We were joined by Lydia (I Ate The Lotus) and Sarah (Yo, What's The Haps?) at the cocktail parties.
On the first morning of the conference there was a 30 minute speed dating session. I sort of wish that they did this both mornings because it was the only opportunity to actually sit and chat with people. I found myself rushing around during the rest of the conference and not having much time to actually seek people out to talk to. However, I did gather a tidy stack of cards. I haven't had a chance to actually sit down and read all of these blogs, but I look forward to going through and reading about the people I met and hopefully adding a few more blogs to my blogroll. Here's the list...
While I was at the conference I took notes in a polka dot notebook. I've started working those notes into a post (or two if it gets too long) about the sessions I attended, the food we ate, the swag and the colour of Dooce's tights. Stay tuned!

i think you are super brave to go to a conference and just meet people like that. i would be petrified!
Brie, did you know that the Pinecrest was the site of the notorious "poached-egg murder"?
http://www.sfweekly.com/1997-10-15/news/a-short-order-murder/
I had no idea! I ordered sunny-side up, but I usually order poached. I seem to recall a sign that said they don't do poached. Curious. They were under new management...now perhaps I know why.
On an unrelated note...I love the prints that I bought from you! You can expect mad props in an upcoming post.
I just read the story---it's heartbreaking. If I ever go again I will take a moment to look for her photo.
